Breakthroughs by Engineering Systems x Biomaterials !

Our lab aims to be the first in the world to create systems that combine devices with cells, enzymes, and proteins by integrating microfabrication and microfluidic technologies with technologies from other fields such as biotechnology and medicine. In particular, based on the microfabrication technology of biomaterials, we are focusing on the establishment of tissue construction methods by in vitro cell culture and the realization of biohybrid machines by integrating cultured tissue and devices. We will make a new breakthrough in society by clarifying a method for constructing cultured tissues using any cells, and realizing the industrialization of cultured tissues based on electronics, mechanics, and information engineering.
